    Gilda was the nickname of a romanian friend of mine, cute as can be, gorgeous as should all girls be, good natured and with a mind that I know very few males have.  Romania is an interesting country because of its insular position in the east part of Europe. Folks over there are the daughters and sons of antic roman legios and the country is a latin one with its qualities and excess. Romanian are more than Italians, certainly due to the conditions they've grown in.  And of course, I inspired in her, I felt in her thes same taste for books. And we spent days in the Latin quarter, moving from libraries to movie theatres.  Theatre , I  love the Champollion where we had the Almodovar's Matador.  Spains. Pompey.  Therms of Cluny. A few hundred meters nearby the Old Comedy street , more paper taverns with their red scarlet volumes ,  their shelves.  Gilda is a rare pearl. And a river around her neck changed her to an idol. And nothing but the warmth of a kiss on her velvet skin made her a goddess. Being a european long ago, and enjoying our mutual differences. It makes sens. Still today.
