Acquisition of new area of knowledge is like a sword, cutting your reality in two parts, the ancient one, you've just left and the new one you're about to discover. More than a
hundred and twenty years before a novel was describing a world in two dimensions and the consequences of the irruption of a third dimension intruder. Most of us still don't catch, behind the
fable, the scientific approach and its direct consequences on our perception, on our works related to sensors and furthermore to the understanding of the reality we're all part of.
So, as the folks ask for more and easier, it would not be kind to try and share some elementary notions that could be profitable for the totality of us.
First, imagine a sheet of paper, a plan, two dimensions, lenght and width, in which are included squares, triangles. They conceive themselves as lines assembled with
three or four sides. This forms can never see themselves from higher than the plan where they are and therefore have no idea about the way they are filled with or emptied without. In this world a
circle is quite strange for it has no beginning and no end of its own. It results that they often add them some artificial points so as to include them in their world. An infinite form being some
kind of heresie. Circles cannot be grabbed on any side and no summit inform of the way they're going. Circles are dangerous entities in a two dimensional world.
Second, this is the point, some squares and triangle, or any polygon you like or you may feel related to, ask for a mathematic axiom or rule that will prove the existence of a
third dimension.
Remember that in two dimensions you can only perceive the sides of the form that are included in the paper sheet where you are drawn. Anything external to the sheet can not be
seen . Even a millimeter up to the sheet.
Now, release the intruder. A sphere. A sphere comes in contact with the sheet. first a point, the a line. It has no side, so it looks rather like a circle and is
perceived as a potential trouble maker. "Circles have no end, circles can't be grabbed!"
Our sphere begins communicating with some polygons that are reputated open mind, and in spite of their goodwilling souls they just can't see anything else than a point or a
circle. One thing remains: sphere can appear and dissappear from nowhere at anytime. just imagine what it means being in relation with such an entity, and entity moving wherever it pleases, that
cannot be entirely seen and really cannot be imagined for not a single polygon can include it in it largest width. At last , the only conception possible is to consider it as a form turning
from a point to to line before become a point again. It implies a sphere is a form of existence which has an simultaneaous access to past and future and all the state of mind of a circle through
its life. It can see things from above, estimate a distance between two forms not only due to the width and summit of a polygon but to his relative speed to other objects. This kind of
entity, a sphere, can, from its point of view, preview anything happening with the plan.
Quite frightening, and that is the origin of the explanations and refutations some two dimensions scientists are giving as an answer to the quantics existence. Anyway, what
could be done to change that? Provide some new senses, new sensors, implement some new concepts. How are concepts implemented in human brain? That's the key. Try and get into another dimension...
